Everyone takes the same course in the same order. The only thing that changes between students is what their hands can do by the end.

You cannot treat what you cannot find, and you cannot find it by reading. So palpation starts in the second week of year one, before the anatomy course has finished describing the region.
Everything after that is built on the same principle: the theory arrives just in time to explain what your hands have already met.
There are no elective modules. A cohort that has done the same five years can be examined honestly.
Year by year

- Year one
- Anatomy, physiology, histology. Palpation from the second week: you learn to find a landmark before you learn to name it. 780 hours.
- Year two
- Biomechanics and the first techniques. Osteoarticular, myofascial, visceral. You work on classmates, then on volunteers. 820 hours.
- Year three
- The clinic opens. You take a history, examine, propose, and are corrected on the spot by a practising osteopath. 960 hours, 260 of them clinical.
- Year four
- Full clinical load and research methods. You choose a thesis question and a supervisor. 1,040 hours, 420 of them clinical.
- Year five
- Mostly clinic, plus the thesis and the viva. An external placement of six weeks. 1,260 hours, 640 of them clinical.

How you are assessed
- Practical
- Assessed in pairs, in front of a teacher, four times a year. You are marked on what your hands find, not on what you can recite.
- Written
- Two sessions a year on anatomy, physiology and pathology. Compensation between subjects is not permitted.
- Clinical
- From year three, a supervisor signs off each consultation. Twenty signed consultations are required to progress.
- Thesis
- A written study of 8,000 to 12,000 words, defended in front of a panel of three in year five.
