Hands are taught differently in different places. A term somewhere else is the cheapest way to find out which of your habits are technique and which are just local custom.
Talk to the officeEvery school teaches a slightly different set of defaults: how long a consultation runs, how much is explained to the patient, when to refer on. Most students never notice their own until they meet someone else's.
The exchange is optional and about a third of each cohort takes it. Those who stay are not disadvantaged: the term abroad covers the same material.
The six-week placement in year five is not optional, but it can be taken in France.
